BAY STREET, MOSMAN
This contemporary family home is positioned amongst subtropical gardens with sweeping views to Beauty Point.
Unlocking the potential of this site involved redesigning the kitchen, formal and informal living areas to create bright new open plan layouts, taking full advantage of the orientation to both the harbour and the private outdoor living areas to the back.
The landscaping strategy centres on a spacious lawn surrounded by retaining walls with planter gardens and built-in seating, integrating the indoor with outdoor areas.
The new roof with deep projected eaves responds to the western orientation, ensuring glazing is protected and creates usable outdoor space with opened views towards Beauty Point. In addition the redesign improved the children's bedrooms, increased the master suite and created views from a large new external terrace.
The result is a comfortable, livable home adaptable to a modern lifestyle. The design has maximised the benefits of its location whilst being sympathetic to neighbours and context.
WINNER OF THE 2017 MOSMAN DESIGN AWARDS
Commendation and Peoples Choice Winner
This project comprises the extensive replacing and physical reconfiguration of an existing late twentieth century house of unremarkable character. The outstanding feature of the existing house was its location, with extensive views to Middle Harbour and a relative large rear yard. – Mosman Council 2017
The architect has unlocked the potential of the previously enclosed and compartmentalised house to take advantage of both the view and the amenity of the rear yard and connected both with light and airy open planned living areas on the ground floor, achieving a very liable home suited to the needs of the owner’s family. – Mosman Council 2017.

SIRIUS COVE MOSMAN
This project incorporated sustainable practices by adapting much of the existing fabric into the new development. The home enjoys deep verandahs for passive solar shading, roof-mounted solar panels, and rainwater tanks. The retention of the expansive Angophora tree provides solar shading and natural cooling for the home and tennis court.
The intention of the project was to create a striking architectural structure that doubled as a comfortable family home. Seeking to improve an inconsistent façade and reconnect the home to its landscape, the project implemented a clean, sharp design of two white structures, intersected by a black panelled box set back from the façade. Behind the crisp lines of the building, resides a warm home with rich and sumptuous interior detailing.
The result of this project is a beautifully appointed and became a liveable home which has achieved a modern architectural design that seamlessly rests within Mosman’s urban landscape.
Client testimonial -
I love those skylights. The ones in the front hall plus the one in the shower just give the best light!! I’m so happy with they way the house is coming together – it’s just a complete transformation of the space and the flow.

MEDUSA STREET MOSMAN
Already a family home, this project sought to hone the internal layout of the dwelling, improve its aesthetic appearance to the streetscape and further develop the connections between the internal and external spaces of the property. With the addition of architectural detailing to the front and rear façades of the home, the introduction of a contemporary colour palette and streamlining the entrance to the property from Medusa Street, this project has refined the former complications of the property and has achieved a home that presents beautifully to the urban landscape and contains a sleek internal layout with luxe materials, customised joinery and selected furniture.
This project incorporated sustainable practices by adapting much of the existing fabric into the development and retaining timber framed glazing throughout the home. With verandahs to the front and rear and covered outside living zones, the dwelling enjoys solar shading and natural cross ventilation flows through the redesigned internal spaces.

This project incorporated sustainable practices by adapting much of the existing fabric into the new development. The home now enjoys natural cross ventilation, solar shading from external adjustable screens and deep verandahs and its landscape is supported by extensive rain water catchment, on-site detention, and energy collected by solar panels.
With sweeping views to Middle Head, the intention of the project was to design a warm and functional family home that would fittingly frame the picturesque views that it enjoys. This was achieved by creating bright open-plan zones, connected by wide central corridors that draws the views and natural light throughout the home. The addition of outdoor terraces across the rear façade provide a valuable connection between the internal living spaces, the landscaped rear yard and the wider environment.
The result is a comfortable, liveable home that maximises the benefits of its location, has improved the streetscape presentation of the property and makes a positive contribution to the built environment of Mosman.

Contemporary pool house featuring exposed timber rafter ceilings, wrapped with lining boards to soften interior aesthetics. The lofted ceilings are uplit during evenings to offset the cool blue allure of the swimming pool in the foreground creates an illuminated feature.
The centre of the living space has a grey stone clad gas fireplace, surrounded with custom vertical routed timber built-in joinery which includes a fold down bed, robes and book shelving. The modern timber lined kitchenette with stone bench tops is set to one end of the pool house and balanced at the other end with a spacious steam room wrapped in floor to ceiling white penny round tiles with black contrasting black tapware.

THOMPSON STREET MOSMAN
A previously modified inter-war bungalow, this project sought to rectify unsympathetic design changes and reinstate the historic character that had been lost in the home while introducing a soft contemporary internal finish. Removing the domineering gabled balcony and reinstating the entrance and verandah on the front elevation has restored architectural balance and greater historic accuracy to the dwelling and, with a complementary colour palette, the dwelling now offers an improved presentation to the streetscape.
Internally, the home has been redesigned into a clean sleek layout, using natural materials and a light relaxed colour palette. Historic character and sensitivity has been reintroduced into the home with timber dado rails, wall panelling and internal doors.
This sustainable project adapted much of the existing fabric and retained historic detailing including floors, ceilings, staircase and balustrade. Historic verandah tiles were discovered, restored and retained. The rear and reinstated front verandah provide passive solar shading, and solar panels and rainwater tanks serve the home and gardens.
